Paddling
Canoeing and kayaking is another ideal way to explore our paradise.

Endless Adventure out of Nelson BC have a number of floats and raft trips available for the Slocan River. Or ask Barry and Judy and they’ll direct you to where you should put your tube in for a maximum river tubing experience.

Slocan Lake has a multitude of views to be appreciated from the seat of a canoe or kayak. Waterfalls and sandy beaches adorn this majestic lake. You’ll likely come across some Petroglyphs: First Nations Rock Paintings left by Sinixt  (Lake People.)

Galena Trail

Galena Trail

Peddling
Road cycling enthusiast have long been coming to the Slocan Valley for it’s intermediate to challenging pathways. The International Selkirk Loop offers the Silvery Slocan Super Side Trip of the loop – an impressive 177 km route that travels along Kootenay Lake and Slocan Lake to loop around Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park.

Slocan Valley Rail Trail, right out the front door of Lemon Creek Lodge, is road cycling and mountain biking combined.

Challenging enough for experienced riders, but easy enough for beginners, Galena Trail runs from Rosebery to Three Forks. Hop onto it around halfway in New Denver and choose Rosebery (1-2 hours) or Three Forks (2-3 hours.) The Three Forks trail features carpenter Creek, over which you’ll need to use the cable car to cross.

Fishing
Slocan Lake is well known for its beautiful Rainbow and Bull Trout, Kokanee and Mountain Whitefish. But catching them is utterly rewarding as the challenge is greater on this 900 foot deep lake. Huge drop-offs on all sides provide varying depths that these fish use to hide from your lure. Fishing near creek mouths is most advantageous, either with flies or from boats. Try catch and release at it’s best at the confluence of Slocan River and Lemon Creek just walking distance from the lodge.

And So Much More
Spring, Summer and Fall Festivals are a popular draw to the Kootenays. The cities of  Nelson, Castlegar, Trail, Kaslo, New Denver and beyond provide daytrips of culture and wonder. As a courtesy to guests, the staff at Lemon Creek Lodge would be happy to help make arrangements for your Slocan Adventure.
